AMBE Engineering is Hiring a Director of Engineering Near Rome, GA
The Director of Engineering will oversee and coordinatethe daily operations of highly skilled engineering staff while ensuring thatcompany objectives and goals are met. The Director of Engineering will reportdirectly to the Global Vice President of Engineering and Innovation.
- Champions the entire productengineering lifecycle: specifications, design, development, testing andsustaining.
- Prioritizes and delivers all projectson time, meeting customer requirements including cost, quality, and reliabilitytargets.
- Participates in technical decisionmaking and takes a hands-on approach to understanding technical and designissues when necessary.
- Maintains a product/solution roadmapand development schedule that can be shared with process partners alike.
- Reviews work and projects fortechnical accuracy.
- Drives defined engineering processesand identifies opportunities to improve processes for efficiency andeffectiveness gains.
- Establishes a strong engineeringculture, excellent technology, high quality implementations and fostereffective communications in and among the organization. Achieves quick andconstructive resolutions of conflict and sets standards for quality, testingand documentation.
- Facilitates communication amongclients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, anddeadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering froman accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience inleading an engineering organization with demonstrated experience in leading newtechnology efforts from inception to transition to a customer organization,driving program deliverables, identifying, and resolving technical and programdecision/issues.
- A minimum of 10 years of broadengineering experience within designing and manufacturing organizations.
- Minimum of 7 years of R&Dexperience.
- Wheels and Tires experience is REQUIRED.
- Strong knowledge and experience with processtools such as profit planning, strategic planning, Organizational CapabilityAssessment
- Lean System/Six Sigma, Supply Chain Management
- Fixed Capital Optimization
- Quality System
- Environmental
- Health and Safety (EHS) processes (ISO 9001,etc.).
